This is the Episode 7 of a series of our Christmas Journey, which is about our the same day we left Taiwan for Okinawa, Japan.
Soon after Taiwan Island disapeared in our visual, Ryukyu Islands and its beautiful landscape emerged beneath clouds. Once stepping onto land of Ryukyu, we felt like entering another completely different world compared to Taiwan. Quietness, cleanliess, politeness, cuteness and every detail designed for improving customer experience showcased that Japan is unique in many ways. This is our third time visiting Japan, and the first time visiting Ryukyu, which made us feel both familiar and strange. Many rules and traditions of Japan we’ve kept in mind through previous two trips, like complicated public transport system. However, we still found something fresh new to us that might be unique in Ryukyu, like more enthusiastic and chill social vibe compared to Japan main island. The first day in Naha was very enjoyable. We felt even more relaxed than we were in Taiwan, probably because not everyone here knew our language that we did not need to care about our conversation was considered to be too sensitive to local people, like what we’re worried about in Taiwan. And finally, we could cook by ourselves, which greatly improved our happiness during travel.
CC subtitles are available for Chinese, English, Korean, Dzongkha, Japanese and Portuguese, all of which were translated by Gemini.
